Dr. Sheila Fetters

Dr. Sheila Fetters is a native of Eastern Iowa. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids and graduated in 1994 from the Illinois College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree.

After graduation, she worked as an associate doctor in the Cedar Rapids and Coralville areas. In 2005, Dr. Fetters introduced Fetters Family Eye Care, PC inside Westdale Mall. In 2014, she relocated her office to the Queen Court location, and added a beautiful optical in order to meet her patients needs.

Dr. Fetters' practice specialty is with contact lenses, and she promotes quality eye care for the entire family. Preventative eye care begins with annual eye exams. Early detection of dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies enable us to consider treatment to stabilize and/or preserve a comfortable level of vision.

Dr. Fetters is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Diabetes Association, and an active member of St. Ludmila's Church. Some of her previous contributions and positions include co-chair of St. Ludimila's Discipleship Committee, Prairie School Foundation Trustee, Junior League of Cedar Rapids member, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk volunteer and a parent volunteer in the College Community School District.

Dr. Fetters and her husband have 3 children. Some of Dr. Fetters' personal interests include quality time with family and friends, reading, attending athletic events, and traveling. Dr. Fetters and the staff at Fetters Family Eye Care are excited to share her enthusiasm with the newest developments in eyewear and contact lens materials, her clinical expertise in their fit, as well as her continued focus on quality eye health exams for the whole family

Dr. Heather Nguyen

Dr. Heather Nguyen is originally from Lewellen, a very small town in rural Nebraska. She earned her undergraduate degree from Creighton University. Afterwards, she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree at Indiana University, graduating cum laude in 2005.

She has practiced optometry in Kansas, Missouri, and California, while her husband was finishing his doctorate in chemistry. Dr. Nguyen and her family are happy to have settled in Cedar Rapids, and have become very involved in northeastern Iowa.

Since moving here in July 2010, Dr. Nguyen has participated in the Walk for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, the Especially for You Breast Cancer Walk and a variety of other charity races.

She is a member at St. Pius X Catholic Church and the St. Pius X Elementary New Family Committee chair. She is also the Girl Scout Troop Leader for troop 2378. Dr. Nguyen has worked as a part of the Fetters Family Eye Care team since September 2010 and is excited about serving the area with Dr. Fetters.

In addition, she works part-time performing eye examinations in nursing homes in the area. Dr. Heather Nguyen's special interests within optometry include pediatrics, amblyopia, multifocal contact lens fittings and geriatric care.

In Heather's free time she enjoys reading, running, baking and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
